Portugal to assign envoy to Namibia
6/3/2010
Portugal will shortly appoint a chargé d’affaires to Namibia, Foreign Minister Luís Amado said on Monday during a visit to the southwest African state.
Lisbon’s top diplomat announced the chargé’s appointment during a meeting with Portugal’s business community in Windhoek, noting the region is a priority for his county’s foreign policy. “I’m fully convinced that southern Africa, as a whole, will be one of the most important regions for Portugal in its internationalisation, if not even the most important in the coming 20 to 30 years.” TPN/Lusa
