The aim of the Algarve Dog Show is not only to give dogs and their owners a chance to compete in various classes, but to also raise funds for charities while providing a platform for the charities to show the work that they do.
This year the event managed to raise €1250 for this year’s charity, ADAPO, and with funds still coming in, it is hoped that more donations will help to boost this amount, which will be used to help the charity rescue more dogs and cats.
In total there were 105 dogs registered to take part in the classes over the weekend, making it tough for judge Colin Cummins to pick out the best,. However, in the end it was Murphy who came out as the overall winner on Saturday, while puppy Poppy took home the best in show for Sunday.
The Algarve Dog Show will be returning to the International Algarve Fair next year, with more opportunities to win classes, dogs up for adoption and great demonstrations for the entire family to enjoy. So if you missed the show this year, be sure to join the fun in 2018!
