This will be the largest fair of its type south of the Tagus, involving the organisations of public safety services and civil protection services, safety and health agents, as well as the operators of the whole system of protection operations. A unique program over the three days will cover all safety issues!
The objective of the fair is to give visitors awareness of information and services available that can help protect lives, and opportunities to understand the systems that are in operation.
The fair will cover 4,000m² of indoor space accommodating providers and suppliers of goods and services in the area of security and safety, civil protection agents, and the integrated system of operations of protection and relief at national level. In addition, there is some 8,000m² of outdoor space: where there will be demonstrations including vehicles and civil protection equipment; Operational Exercises and workshops; Awareness and Public Information Activities and static displays.
Altogether there will be around 100 exhibitors and entities taking part, over 50 activities already scheduled and some 10,000 people expected to attend. The fair is also directed at families so children are welcome – there is plenty to see.
The event starts on 24 May at 9am with a guided visit of the fair and practical demonstrations, followed by a Seminar “Emergency Response in Portugal” organised by the Municipal Civil Protection Service in Portimão and Safe Communities Portugal.
With presentations by officials and agents of the Integrated Protection and Relief Operations System and the Integrated Medical Emergency System, this seminar, presented in English, aims to provide an opportunity for foreign citizens to understand the functioning of response systems within the scope of civil protection and help in Portugal, as well as clarifying any doubts about the rules and procedures to be adopted in emergency situations.
This seminar is a unique opportunity to learn how the government agencies deal with major emergencies in Portugal.
The full 3-day programme can be downloaded in PDF format from the “civil protection page” on the Safe Communities Portugal website.
Registration for the seminar can be made at the ALGARSAFE’ administration office, or through the email: eventos@ahbvp.pt.
Registration is free, subject to the number of seats available.
