The AMAL said in a statement that the measure was approved unanimously at a meeting on Friday at the inter-municipal council.

The reduction will be achieved through funds from the Environment Fund that represents around $1 million this year in the case of AMAL, corresponding to 97.5% of the overall amount. The remaining 2.5% will come from municipalities.

The statement pointed out that the measure aimed to increase public transport usage and to contribute towards saving the environment.
