These include the annual Faro Bikers Meet, in Faro (20-23 July), when thousands of bikers descend on the Algarve from all over Europe; the candlelight market in Lagoa (6-9 July), and the Presunto Fair, in Monchique (22-23 July).
Two other big events set to draw the crowds to Faro are the Ria Formosa Festival, which showcases seafood and local flavours (27 July – 6 August) and the Alameda Beer Festival (7-9 July).
All of the 170 events and their respective dates are available in a bilingual booklet, the Guia Algarve (Algarve Guide), published by the RTA regional tourism board, which can be found free at Faro airport and in most hotels, tourist offices, travel agencies and golf courses throughout the region.
