Algarve Tourist Board wants lifeguards on beaches all year round

in Algarve · 18-05-2017 14:51:00 · 0 Comments

The Algarve Tourist Board has said it is looking to have lifeguards on beaches all year round.

A report in newspaper Correio da Manhã, claims the region’s tourism board also wants councils to have greater financial responsibility in the matter. The head of the Algarve Tourism Board, Desidério Silva, told the newspaper that beaches that could be up and running in the spring shouldn’t be held back by the law. Official beach season for most beaches in the Algarve only starts on 1 June. Until then, vigilance is optional.
