The head of the Algarve Tourism Board, Desidério Silva, has said national airline TAP needs to view the Algarve “with respect”.
His comments came after the airline this week announced four new routes from Porto, and he urged the flag-carried to “think for once about the Algarve and what it represents.” He added that while northern and central Portugal should be happy with how the airline serves them, TAP should also look to build on the mere three percent of movement it represents at Faro airport, which welcomes nine million passengers a year.
