The new school is the latest addition to the Nobel Education Network, that also owns schools in Austria, Oman and Vietnam. Nobel Schools are renowned for their exceptional academics, inquiry-based learning approach, and unique exchange opportunities around the globe.

“We chose to expand our operations in Portugal because of the increasing demand for high-quality, international education among both Portuguese and expatriate families in the region,” said Nobel Education Network’s Managing Director Karl Engkvist. “Our new facility will offer students a world-class education in an environment that supports both independent and collaborative learning.”

The Almancil campus, located on 37,382 square acres off Caminho das Pereiras, will include a premium, purpose-built facility housing administration offices, a multi-purpose hall, and classrooms equipped with the latest educational technology. Additional features include a central courtyard, two playgrounds and an all-weather sports field. The campus design allows for future expansion as enrolment grows.

The school will be applying to be a candidate school for the International Baccalaureate’s Primary Years Programme, which focuses on the development of the whole child by engaging students in inquiry and emphasising project-based learning. Academics and campus life at Nobel Almancil will embrace Portugal’s spirit of Discovery, the World Topic that guides the learning experience at Nobel Algarve.

“Our students experience Discovery through academics, extra-curricular programmes, an emphasis on community activity, and interactions with the greater Nobel network,” said Nobel Algarve’s Head of School Mike Farrer. “This exciting process inspires a love of learning in students that lasts a lifetime.”

The Nobel International School Algarve’s Almancil campus will open its doors in September 2017 for Early Years (age 3 to 5) and Primary (ages 6 to 10) students. For more information, visit www.nobel-almancil.com or email almancil@nobelalgarve.com.
