An overwhelming success with over 600 adults and lots of children, not to mention dogs, attending the show.

It was lovely to see so many different dog breeds in addition to the rafeiros. One of the vets present said she was delighted to see a Borzoi as previously she had only seen pictures of them.
The show raised €6,000 for the APAA which will go a long way towards helping the work of the Association.
There were over thirty trade stands at Scruffts and some of the exhibitors have already asked about booking for next year.
The APAA was delighted to welcome a film crew making a documentary about animal welfare and a TV crew from Algarve Channel 5 who were also filming the event.
The show was opened by the President of Lagoa Câmara, Dr José Inácio Marques Eduardo who was welcomed by Verna Kinder, the founding President of the APAA.
The two judges from the Portuguese Kennel Club chose the Borzoi, Daisy, as Best in Show (Pedigree) and Norm as Best in Show (Mixed Breed). Daisy is owned by Kerry French, and Lars Rahmquist from VIP Veterinary Clinic in Lagos is the proud owner of Norm.
The APAA is indebted to the show’s main sponsor, Paws4Pets of Albufeira, who supplied all the prizes for the judging classes and InfoMyFriend of Lagos who supplied the prizes for the two agility competitions.
