According to latest research, the average wage as risen by 4.55 percent, with the average employee now cashing in a cheque for 838 euros at the end of the month.

Two subsequent increases in the minimum wage, from 485 to 505 euros and then to 530 euros also assisted in pushing up average earnings in Portugal.
