The monthly average for complaints was 1,115 - a 0.8 percent reduction on the average for the whole of last year, according to a report from the institution on the subject.
“This development resulted from [the fact that] complaints about deposit accounts remained relatively stable (-0.2 percent), while whose for consumer credit fell (-5.9 percent) and those for mortgage credit increased slightly (1.4 percent)”, the report states.
As for inspections carried out by Bank of Portugal staff in the first half, the report states that these “centred on checks on the obligation of institutions annually to send an invoice-receipt to their clients - a document that identifies all commissions associated with the deposit account and payment services imposed in the previous year.”
