EDGA players at the event will be aiming to spread the word that golf is for everyone regardless of their ability
or disability.
According to EDGA President Tony Bennett, “This year we have six players who have not been to the event previously and each are here on merit, through the ranking for golfers with disability”.
Many types of disability or impairment are unseen as their effects are not immediately apparent. Some studies show that up to 70 percent of disabled people have impairments or medical conditions, which can be classed as unseen. Some of these disabilities can be physical and others neuro-developmental.
On Saturday, the EDGA will have six players with disabilities, conducting a clinic on the range at 1pm, followed by a putting clinic at 4pm and they will play a shoot out with the Tour players on the 18th around 5pm.
