This year the fair will start each day with a riot of sound, colour and energy thanks to performances from drumming bands and majorettes and the feel good factor is set to continue throughout the day.
While the centre stage will be the focus for many of the performances, the entertainment will not be confined to a single area, so expect to be surprised by cheeky pirates, wowed by circus skills and impressed by street entertainers as they make their way around the entire fair on both days.
Encourage your active side with demonstrations, workshops and sessions from the world of martial arts, try your hand at fitness classes or test out your skills with boxing. It doesn’t matter what age you are, or your fitness level, everyone is welcome to join and to then chat with the professionals after if you want to find out more.
Over in the new children’s area there will be plenty to keep the youngest visitors to the fair happy for hours. Here, the emphasis is firmly on having fun with bouncy castles, games, face painting, the chance to meet with members of the local Bombeiros and to even take a ride on a donkey!
Once you have worked up a hunger then it is over to the food court for a trip around the world with a truly international selection of restaurants and street food eateries. From classic British fish and chips, back again following great success last year, to Brazilian specialities, Indian curries and treats, kebabs and many Portuguese tapas favourites. Be sure to also visit the street food area where you can enjoy a freshly made gourmet burger or enjoy a homemade pizza for a true taste of Italy at the fair.
Satisfy your sweet tooth with crepes, pancakes, ice cream, candy floss and popcorn and then enjoy a fantastic choice of drinks with everything from fresh smoothies to caipirinhas.
Fans of music and dance will be able to enjoy live Fado performances and dance shows from local schools and if you want to take to the mic yourself then be sure to take part in the karaoke sessions to finish the show each evening from 7pm.
