With an audience of over 2.4 million viewers, the Portugal-Switzerland World Cup qualifier was the most-watched football game in 2017, while SWAT, with an average audience of 116,000 viewers, was the most-watched series.
The Eurovision Song Contest was also among the most watched programmes last year.
In related news, the presenters for this year’s Eurovision Song Contest, which is coming to Portugal for the first time, have been revealed.
They are Portuguese actresses Daniela Ruah and Filomena Cautela, and well-known presenters Catarina Furtado and Sílvia Alberto.
The two semi-finals will take place on 8 and 10 May, and the grand final on 12 May at the Parque das Nações in Lisbon.
Portugal won the contest for the first time on 13 May, 2017, thanks to singer Salvador Sobral and the song “Amar por Dois”.
