In a statement, the low-cost airline said that the routes to be resumed from mid-next month - after the stop determined by the covid-19 pandemic - will be operated from Gatwick, Belfast, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Liverpool, Island of Man, Inverness, Bristol, Newcastle and Birmingham in the United Kingdom.

“Additionally, flights to France from Nice, Paris Charles de Gaulle, Toulouse, Bordeaux, Nantes and Lille will also be resumed, as well as operations from Geneva, Switzerland, to Barcelona, ??Porto and Lisbon, and from Milan, Italy”, refers.

Initially only focused on reactivating domestic flights and some international routes, easyJet "expects to increase the number of flights as customer demand begins to increase and restrictions decrease".

"During the period of confinement, the fleet remained on land, but the planes were kept in a position to resume flying as soon as the company determined that there were conditions for that," he says.

Flights to resume in June will be subject to "new biosafety measures", including "strict cleaning and disinfection" of the planes, the obligation to wear a mask for passengers and crew and the absence of food service on board the flights.

Cited in the statement, easyJet's CEO (Johan Lundgren) says these measures will remain in place “for as long as necessary to ensure that customers and crew can fly safely, while the world continues to recover from the impact of the pandemic”.

“We will continue to assess the situation in Europe closely, so that when more restrictions are lifted, the flight plan continues to increase over time to meet demand and, at the same time, ensure that we are operating efficiently and in routes that our customers want”, he adds.
