In the opening gam of the tournament England and Portugal played some attractive football with the hosts taking an early lead through Miguel Luis (Sporting).


Samuel Shashoua (Tottenham Hotspur) got England level in the second-half when he converted Jonathan Leko’s (WBA) cross.


England also drew their second game, against Germany, 2-2 despite taking a two goal lead through George Hirst (Sheffield Wednesday) and their final game against the Netherlands resulted in a 2-0 defeat.


Germany had beaten the Dutch 1-0 in their opening game and trounced Portugal 5-0 in the last game of the tournament at the Algarve Stadium on Tuesday to be crowned champions with seven points from their three games.
