Through re-sold donated items the charity raised enough funds to support five community organisations with much-needed goods, such as clothes and shoes and Christmas gifts.
These were an orphanage in Lagos, a girls’ home and a crèche in Portimão, an orphanage in Alvor and an association that helps individuals with learning difficulties.
Founded in October 2014 by British expat Christine Browning, the non-profit Goodwill Charity aims to help and support organisations “for people” in the local region.
“I would like to thank everyone who has supported us in the past year”, Christine says, adding, “I would ask you to carry on with the support and perhaps next year we can help many more local community organisations.”
The shop is located in Portimão, open Mon – Fri, 10am – 2pm, Sat 10am – 1pm, and unwanted items can also be collected on arrangement.
