The aim of the nationwide action, according to ASAE, was to “preserve the safety and defend consumers’ use of these spaces.”
The main objectives of the operation focussed on making sure the companies and organisations met the necessary legal obligations to install and operate their various activities, as well as checking the necessary paperwork was in place for the likes of boats and other leisure tourism set-ups.
In total 200 operators were inspected, nationally, and proceedings were launched in 19 cases.
The most common offences related to lack of previous warning of launching an activity, irregularities regarding the classification of establishments, and a lack of compulsory information within the field of holiday camps for youngsters aged six to 18.
One campsite was temporarily shut down for not having a valid licence.
