ARDMA, which is owned by businessman Pedro de Almeida, said it wants to maintain and bolster the unique characteristics of Herdade da Comporta, which make it a unique destination and a benchmark on the international scene.

The press release did not mention the price that was paid. The agreement was signed at the beginning of last week.

Herdade da Comporta, which sits between Alcácer do Sal and Grândola, was bought by the Espírito Santo family in 1987.

After the collapse of Grupo Espírito Santo, a Luxembourg court put Herdade da Comporta up for sale.
