The Association further argues the A22 motorway was subject to one of the biggest increases in toll fees at the start of the year and failing a suspension of tolls, has called for the rise to be held back.
This comes after Transport Minister Pedro Marques last week announced a resumption of roadworks on the EN125 between Olhão and Vila do Bispo which comes at a cost of 75 million euros.
Work on the road was halted last summer pending approval from the audit office. Now ironed out, work is hoped to be complete by the end of this year.
A ceremony was held in Lagos last Thursday by road operator Rotas do Algarve Litoral to mark the occasion.
However, a date has yet to be announced for the start of work on the stretch between Olhão and Vila Real de Santo António, in the Eastern Algarve, which is one of the worst-affected parts of the notorious road.
