A giant ice skating rink has been erected in Lisbon’s Eduardo VII park, which will be open to the public during the festive period between 14 and 28 December.
Lisbon Town Hall in partnership with children’s channels Biggs and MEO Kids have set up the Panda Biggs Ice Park Extreme, which is free for the public to enjoy.
The park, which covers a total area of 800m2, includes a 200m2 ice rink and a 40 metre long fun slide for all the family to enjoy.
This initiative also has a charitable theme, thanks to the presence of the Biggy mascot who will be at the park to teach youngsters how to skate on the ice. A percentage of the money raised from hiring ice skating equipment will revert to AMI charity and the Musgueira social centre.
The park is open from 11am until 7pm every day of the week. On Christmas Eve the park will be open from 11am until 3pm and from 3pm until 7pm on Christmas day.
