The number of landlords declaring their income to the taxman in Portugal has dropped.
According to a report in this morning’s Diário de Notícias, in just two yeas, 23,000 fewer people have stopped declaring rental income, despite the prices of rents going up, a drop of 4 percent. Property owners’ associations said many decided to sell their properties, while others say the impact of local accommodation laws also played a hand.
