Learners from Nobel International School Algarve achieve Top of the World level

Two students from Nobel International School Algarve have received prestigious awards from Cambridge Assessment International Education to acknowledge their outstanding performances, as Top of the World for Portuguese and Travel and Tourism, in the Summer 2017 Cambridge examination series.

The Outstanding Cambridge Learner Awards programme celebrates the success of learners taking Cambridge examinations in over 40 countries around the world. Cambridge places learners at the centre of their international education programmes and qualifications which are inspired by the best in educational thinking.

The following learners at Nobel International School Algarve, both from Holland, received Top in the World awards:

Sofia Horta - IGCSE Portuguese

Roberto van der Slikke – AS Travel and Tourism

Head of School Mike Farrer said that the awards recognised the talent, dedication and commitment of both learners and staff. He said: “These are really fantastic achievements that both pupils will remember for the rest of their lives. They are both delightful pupils and excellent role models at school, and should be very proud of their achievements. They have a bright future ahead of them and I wish them every success in their future. To achieve Top in the World at an international examination in any subject is truly remarkable and is evidence not only of talent for the subject but of a strong work ethic and an indication of the support these students have had from their teachers who are rightly very proud.”

Top performing learners received their Outstanding Cambridge Learner Awards at a Head of School Achievers´Tea, where they discussed their plans for the future. Sofia, who joined the school in Year 10, and Roberto, who has been a pupil at the school since Year 1, both plan to study at Dutch universities and Roberto has already applied for the BSc in Business Administration at UVA, Amsterdam.
