The futuristic area aims to increase the terminal’s check-in capacity by catering for a growing demand in the self-serve sector, making the infrastructure more efficient, providing it with a new, technologically innovative system.
Humberto Delgado Airport Director, João Nunes, says that this new area “is a response to an increase in capacity that this Airport needs to adjust to, and has been adapting to a strong growth and a very intense use, entailing interventions that are designed to offer a better experience to passengers and better conditions for airlines and other entities operating at Humberto Delgado Airport.”
ANA Airports of Portugal, managed by the VINCI Airports Group, implements the best experiences at an international level, and within its network, strives to improve conditions and services and to invest in its airports it said in a statement, adding: “This investment, in particular, was seen as relevant not only for its capacity to cater for growth, but for the innovation it brings”.
Operational since 7 June, the new area has, for now, the assistance of employees to ensure greater convenience for passengers.
