A security perimeter was erected around the terminal to keep the public safe while the offending bag was inspected.
It was lifted and the terminal reopened around an hour later after the abandoned case was examined by the PSP’s bomb squad and proved harmless.
A source from the Lisbon Metropolitan PSP command said “there was no threat” and explained that the bag must have been forgotten.
