The Alentejo Regional Winegrowing Commission (CVRA) said that the 'Wines of Alentejo in Lisbon' event, which is now in its 10th year, aims to promote the region's wine.

This year’s event has a new format, with the two first days dedicated to the general public and Monday to professionals.

The initiative includes wine tasting with commentaries from specialists, and debates about wine, gastronomy and live music on the Saturday.

A novelty this year is an electronic record of wines tasted, in a cup that visitors receive when they acquire their ticket for the event.

Visitors are later to receive an email with information about the wines they tasted.

According to organisers, last year around 10,000 people visited the event.
