Lisbon Metro to provide 32 new ramps for reduced mobility passengers

Lisbon's Metro transport system is to provide 32 new removable ramps to help the accessibility of passengers with reduced mobility, bringing the total number of stations with this equipment to 38, the company announced.

This measure intends to “overcome the small gap between the train and the edge of the platform, allowing more accessibility in the movement of these users' equipment,” according to a statement.

Only stations with lift are to have the accessibility ramps installed.

To use this type of equipment, users must request assistance from a Metro employee at the entrance.
