The wining city is going to be announced by the European transport commissioner, Violeta Bulc, at a ceremony in Brussels on 20 March, when they will also announce the winning city of the 5th Sustainable Urban Planning and Development Award.

Lisbon is in the running for the European Mobility Week Awards 2016 because it transformed public spaces into pedestrian zones.

The award was designed to reward successful local authorities in planning and mobility that answer the transport needs of people and companies, while improving the quality of life.
