With less than two months to go before the Web Summit, the Hub Criativo in Lisbon’s Beato district was chosen as the stage for 'Pitch Day', when each startup will make a short presentation of their companies and the 66 that stand lout most for their innovative potential will win the right to the 2016 edition of what is considered to be one of the main technology, innovation and entrepreneurship events in the world.

"This is the kick-off on the way to the Web Summit, we are going to hold here in November for the next three years. Tomorrow, the companies that are going to have the enormous responsibility of representing Portugal at the Web Summit are going to be selected", Caldeira Cabral told reporters.

The winners are going to be announced on Wednesday at an event attended by the Portuguese prime minister, António Costa, the economy minister, Manuel Caldeira Cabral, and the mayor of Lisbon, Fernando Medina.

The Web Summit is a global technology conference that is going to be held in Lisbon and it is expected to attract more than 50,000 participants from over 150 countries, including more than 20,000 companies, 7,000 CEOs and 2,2w00 international reporters.
