Attendees of the Web Summit will hear about Portuguese startups and organisations. But they will also have a chance to visit their headquarters and hear, from the founders themselves, about innovation, vision and, above all, mission, as part of the NewCo festival, taking place in Lisbon this Friday (11 November).
Startups representing Portugal at the Web Summit, such as Zaask, Landing Jobs, Get Social and Mobiag, will be opening doors as host companies of the NewCo Portugal 2016, the open house concept created by John Battelle, cofounder of WIRED Magazine, to highlight mission based companies that add value to society.
This is the first time that a NewCo event is coming to Portugal, and the festival gathers a wide range of organisations, big and small, new and old. Corporations like Microsoft Portugal and Fundação EDP, or startups as Uniplaces, Chic by Choice or Coworklisboa, will take part in the NewCo Portugal 2016, welcoming attendees to their headquarters.
Visits will be guided in English, and, like a festival, attendees can plan their own tour, listening to inspiring stories and admiring some of the most creative work places.
NewCo Portugal 2016 is supported by NOVA SBE and powered by MINI Portugal, and will then move on to Faro, Leiria, Porto and Braga.
