Luxury car dumped on Algarve motorway believed to be British

A luxury vehicle that has been abandoned at a service area on the Algarve’s A22-Via do Infante motorway for around two years is believed to be a British-registered car.

According to reports, even though the red Audi convertible has no licence plates on it, authorities believe the car to be UK-registered as the steering wheel in on the right side.

It was left at the rest area on the Via do Infante between Olhão and Faro around two years ago, and is badly damaged with several parts missing.

Newspaper Correio da Manhã approached the GNR’s Faro Territorial Command with regard to the abandoned car, which said it was aware of the situation, but stressed that “there are no ongoing procedures involving the vehicle””

Removal of the vehicle is the responsibility of the A22 concessionaire.
