The first prize, which totalled 163.5 million euros, was won by a player from Coimbra in central Portugal.

The winner had played a ticket with five automatic bets to the value of ten euros.

Since its start back in 2004, the top Euromillions prize has been won by 58 Portuguese nationals, putting the country third on the list of most winners.

The biggest prize ever, totalling 190 million euros, was won last year by a player in northern Portugal.

The winning numbers were 4-30-34-46-49 and the lucky stars 7 and 8.
