If you have visited the Algarve you have most likely seen it, the mountain range of the “Serra de Monchique” , situated right in the centre of the so-called “old Algarve”, and still relatively untouched by the tourist developments along the coastline.

Monchique, a mountainside Paradise in the heart of the Algarve

Famous since Roman times for the sulphuric hot springs of Caldas de Monchique, which now serves as a Spa, the town of Monchique itself is nestled in between the forested mountains named Picota and Foia.
These days there are various well-marked walking trails to follow and explore the natural beauty, as well as a stretch of the “Via Algarviana” which leads from Sagres in the South-West all the way to the Spanish border in the east of the Algarve.
Most of the Monchique area is now a natural reserve and provides a tranquil mixture of nature, small scale farmers who plant their crops on the traditional granite terraces, foresters and a sizeable expat community. It is well known for its clear spring water which is sold all over Portugal and abroad.
Imochique is a local father and son run Real Estate agency which originally started in 1986.
We provide several additional services such as building and property management as well as rental advice.
Whether you’re looking to buy or sell in the area, we look forward to seeing you to help you find your dream spot in one of the most unspoilt regions left in the South of Portugal.
