Ferreira’s team hammered Al Ahli 7-2 to extend their advantage over former Manchester United assistant manager Rui Faria’s Al Duhail to seven points with just one game to go. 72-year-old Jesualdo Ferreira - who managed Benfica, FC Porto, Sporting and Braga in his native country - joins Artur Jorge, José Mourinho and Vítor Pereira in becoming a national champion in three different countries.

Mourinho is the only coach to have won the top title in four countries.

Curiously, all four coaches began their treble by winning the Portuguese Primeira Liga at FC Porto, with both Artur Jorge and Mourinho winning the European Cup with the Dragons in 1987 and 2004 respectively.

Portuguese coaches to have won league titles in three countries: Artur Jorge:- Portugal (FC Porto); France (Paris-Saint Germain) and Saudi Arabia. Vítor Pereira:- Portugal (FC Porto); Greece (Olympiakos) and China (Shanghai SIPG). Jesualdo Ferreira:- Portugal (FC Porto); Egypt (Zamalek) and Qatar (Al Sadd). José Mourinho: - Portugal (FC Porto); England (Chelsea); Italy (Internazionale) and Spain (Real Madrid).
