Vueling’s new service will connect southern Portugal to Catalonia’s main destination with twice-weekly flights, on Tuesdays and Saturdays during July, and Wednesdays and Saturdays in August and September.
It comes several years after Irish low-cost airline Ryanair first attempted to operate the same route but scrapped it after less than two months, to replace it with a flight to Frankfurt Hahn.
Operated by a 180-seater airbus A320, Vueling’s new route creates 9,000 return seats.
