The new site was created as a result of work done by the Support Unit for Migrant and Discrimination Victims, and it wants to provide information about specific crimes, namely discrimination, hate crimes, human trafficking and female genital mutilation.
The new site, available on: www.apav.pt/uavmd, is already written in Portuguese, but some parts have been translated into English.
It is expected that the site will encourage more people to lodge complaints with the police as it is important to help victims who are not Portuguese regardless of their nationality.
