In a statement, the PJ said that the detainees, both foreign nationals aged 40, had been remanded in custody by a judge.

The operation was carried out by members of the PJ’s national anti-drugs unit, in cooperation with tax and customs authority officials at Lisbon airport.

"The arrests occurred within the framework of checks that are regularly carried out on passenger movements originating in countries considered to be of risk, in order to prevent narcotic products being brought into Portuguese territory and other countries’ international airports," the statement said.
