Angela Morado was this week presented with the honour at a special event staged in Portimão.
Angela has spent the past 29 years dealing with a wide range of consular issues, from those which were of global importance to dealing with British expatriates and holidaymakers in southern Portugal in need of assistance.
The decision to bestow the honour on Angela was “in recognition of her significant contribution to relations between the United Kingdom and Portugal.”
On hand to present the award was British Ambassador Kirsty Hayes who singled out Angela for her commitment to the British Vice-Consulate in Portimão, along with her enthusiasm and limitless drive to fulfil her duties.
Angela has also become known for her work for rescue animals over the years and the occasion was also used to present her with a special “Angel of Animals” award in recognition of her voluntary work in this area.
