The Algarve city has, to date, handed over ten roundabouts to companies who are tasked with maintaining them in exchange for the placement of publicity panels.
A further 17 roundabouts are now currently awaiting approval from the Town Hall, with dozens of companies believed to have shown an interest.
The move first came into force last year when the cash-strapped council allowed private groups to publicise their businesses while maintaining the city’s neglected roundabouts.
