A litre of unleaded fuel was found to be 1 euro and 41 cents in Portugal, placing the country just outside the top ten in a ranking which included 61 countries from all continents. On a European level, motorists in Greece, Italy and Latvia all pay more for petrol than in Portugal, while Hong Kong topped the list with a cost per litre of 1 euro and 71 cents. Crisis-stricken Venezuela is where the cheapest fuel can be bought, at just one cent a litre.
