In the euro area, the job vacancy rate rose to 2.1 percent from April to June compared to the 1.9 percent rate registered in the same quarter of last year but remains steady compared to the first quarter.
In the EU, the 2.2 percent rate registered from April to June represents a progression compared to the 2.0 percent of year-on-year job vacancies, the same level as in the first three months of the year.
The highest job vacancy rates were registered in the Czech Republic (5.4 percent), Belgium (3.5 percent), Netherlands (3.1 percent) and Germany (2.9 percent), while the lowest were seen in Greece (0.7 percent), Bulgaria, Spain and Portugal (0.9 percent each).
