The Portuguese delegation at the exercise is composed of 25 men and officers from the three branches of the armed forces, the Cyberdefence Centre, the Defence Data Centre and the National Cybersecurity Centre, the Portuguese joint chief of staff said on Monday.

Portugal is joining the exercise as it has n ow joined the NATO NATO Cooperative Cyber Defence Centre of Excellence (CCDCOE).

The membership will be formalised on Tuesday.

The international exercise that is running until Friday aims to train the participants in ways to protect information and technology systems and critical infrastructures of the countries in the scenario form a “severe cyberattack”.
