This is according to consultancy company IMS Health, who released the figures ahead of World No Tobacco Day, which took place on Tuesday. According to IMS Health last year Portugal spent over three million euros on products to help quit the habit, but that was still ten percent down on what was spent in 2014. For this year’s No Tobacco Day the World Health Organisation called upon countries to prepare to introduce plain packaging of tobacco products, and the inclusion of graphic health warnings.
