Prosecutors seek to extend investigation into former PM

in News · 16-03-2017 14:26:00 · 0 Comments

Prosecutors seem set to have an investigation into former Prime Minister José Sócrates extended for at least a further two months.

Investigations into the former Socialist leader stretch back to 2014 when he was jailed for a year pending charges of fraud.
Prosecutors, who have still not presented formal charges, have cited the complexity of the case for delays.
The defence team for José Sócrates has called this latest move a “scandal and an abuse being openly performed in front of the nation.”
