Latest figures by the ANSR road safety association show that fatalities in traffic accidents have risen by 50 in relation to 2016.

After more than a decade of drops in road deaths, the number of people who lost their lives up until last Thursday has climbed to 438, with Porto and Setúbal recording the biggest increases.

The ANSR also found the total number of serious and light injuries caused in collisions were also up on 2016.
