Between 4 October and 4 November, from Odeceixe to Odeleite, the eighth edition of the Rota dos Petiscos will showcase the region’s finest concoctions and traditional fare.
This year’s is the biggest ‘Rota’ ever, with over 250 establishments from 13 counties – Aljezur, Vila do Bispo, Lagos, Portimão, Silves, Monchique, Lagoa, Albufeira, Faro, Olhão, São Brás de Alportel, Tavira and Castro Marim – signed up to take part.
Two different pricing options are available; €3 for the Petisco Menu (a sample dish and a drink), or €2 for the Regional Sweet Menu, which includes a dessert and a drink.
Before embarking on this tasty trail, participants must first purchase a ‘Rota Passport’, sold in participating establishments or information bureaus, for €1, which contains a description of the ‘Petiscos’ being served at each eatery, and are stamped with every visit.
Prizes are on offer for those collecting the most stamps, and a minimum of 12 stamps.
All revenue from the ‘passport’ sales goes towards supporting local social projects in participating municipalities.
