During the event, which is supported by Cascais Council, there will be presentations from the Judicial Police, PSP and GNR forces.
According to Safe Communities, with cybercrime being the largest growing crime, forecast to reach a global cost of US$ 2 trillion by 2019, “it is important that businesses and residents are more aware of this and what steps can be taken to minimise the risk.”
Safe Communities Portugal association is therefore organising the seminar for local businesses and residents, which will take place at the Cascais Cultural Centre Auditorium, on Av.ª Rei Humberto II de Itália, 2750-641, on Tuesday 26 January 2016, from 6pm to 8pm.
Keynote speakers include Chief Inspector Rogério Bravo of the PJ police; Lieutenant-Colonel Paulo Jorge Soares Dos Santos, Chief of the Cyber-security Taskforce in the GNR’s Operational Command; Commissioner Carlos Correia (PSP) and Mr. Jim Litchko, senior computer security analyst and board member of Safe Communities Portugal.
The event will be opened by Dra. Maria do Céu Garcia, Deputy Mayor of Cascais, who will deliver a welcoming
address.
This will be followed by a presentation by the President of Safe Communities Portugal, Mr David Thomas, concerning the work of the association regarding Cybercrime.
Topics to be covered include Cyber-security threat, real-world scenarios, awareness efforts, and practical and cost-effective solutions.
There will be time to ask the panellists questions.
