Safety First

People use swimming pools for many different reasons; perhaps to exercise, or cool down (especially in these hot summer months) or for my absolute favourite reason - to splash about in on family holidays, having fun and making lots of great memories that will last a lifetime.

However…and this is where we get serious at Pools4u…in order to have fun, you first (and most importantly) have to be safe. I am always deeply saddened by the amount of deaths and accidents each year, some from lack of care and attention in the lead up to and during the busiest time of the year for swimming pool users.
Being a father myself, I feel even stronger about the importance & the awareness people should take to prevent unnecessary child deaths from happening. As swimming pool users, there are a few things that you should be aware of too. There are simple items to look at that parents (or any adults) can check before the pool gets used and in fact, you could also get the kids involved, so then they realise the importance of being careful and safe.
• Check suction points, they should have covers in place fixed firmly.

• There should always be a Safety Fence or a solid electric/solar cover that will protect our young ones.
• Have a look around, are there loose tiles around the poolside, if there is a stair rail – is it secure, are there sharp edges or places that could cause injury?
Once the simple checks have been carried out, it is also important to make sure that vital regular maintenance checks are performed on swimming pool equipment, this is where Pools4u can help. Our fully qualified and experienced staff know what to look for and can identify areas that may be of concern. So contact us and let us help you to make the kind of memories that you want to keep and hopefully the only side effects you will all have, is that your fingers and toes look like wrinkled prunes from spending so long in the water!
Happy splashing from the Pools4u team
