Recognised as one of the world’s largest tech events, the Portuguese capital will host the event this year, but as from 2019 will face challenges not only from across the border, but also from London, Paris, Berlin, Dubai, Hamburg and Munich. This year’s Web Summit is to take place in November, with some 70,000 visitors from 170 countries expected. Organisers estimate the event generates 300 million euros in revenue.
