Surf Out Portugal wants everyone to "dive" into the sport

Portugal's first Surf Out takes place on 15 and 16 September in Estoril's Craft Fair (FIARTIL) and promoters guarantee it is an experience for everyone at a time when the sports is more popular than ever.

“Surfing has grown so much that it deserves an event to show it and celebrate it. This is the best moment to holdthis initiative since surfing has never been better, never as newsworthy as now”, surfer Patrick Stilwell said, who idealised and organised the event with his brother Salvador.

The first step was to talk to the entities that could support the idea and after getting backing from the World Surf League, Cascais city hall and Tourism of Portugal, the project began to take shape.

FIARTIL will be the home of Portuguese surfing by welcoming the first Surf Out Portugal, an event that brings together some of the best-known surfing names and wants to show visitors that this sport and associated lifestyle through experiences, lectures, workshops and contact with some of the major brands.

“We want to show the surfing world, allow people to enter this universe and get to know it. Surf Out Portugal is an event that brings people and the surfing world together in one space”, Patrick Stilwell added.
